Barry Mellor
Head of Marketing and Services Procurement, VodafoneThree
Barry has been working in Procurement since 1990, with spells at British Airways, Microsoft, Orange, Diageo and O2 largely focusing on the endlessly lively Marketing Category, whilst enjoying interesting and occasional forays into the world of Sales and Digital Asset Management.
In 2013 his role broadened out as Head of Indirect Procurement at Three (which in 2025 morphed into VodafoneThree) managing a diverse category portfolio with his team including HR, Property, Customer Services, Retail, Logistics, Finance Operations, Energy etc. … and of course not forgetting his “first love” Marketing! Given modern “people managers” often “work at the coalface” too, Barry has keenly retained his active role in the Marketing and Sales category throughout.
Barry lives in the Marlow area in Buckinghamshire, is regularly ridiculed by his three children in their late teens and early twenties, and despite living very close to the lovely countryside around the River Thames, is seemingly one of the very few people in this world without a dog!
